On Thursday 11th August 2011 breaking news of the untimely death of Jani Lane saddened the hearts of rock fans, worldwide, who were left devastated by the loss of a classic rock legend.
Warrant's controversial frontman often hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons but people who knew the man would agree that Jani was a truly inspirational singer/songwriter and all round good guy.
In 2002 I was fortunate enough to meet Jani on a couple of occasions; Jani graciously waited as my dad struggled to get my camera to work, we had a laugh when Jani made an impromptu video message to my friend and I watched as Jani took the time and showed a genuine interest with other Warrant fans. This was the true Jani Lane who knew he didn't need to be a Superman to his biggest fans... Jani truly was a hero to this little girl.
I’m sure that I speak for everyone when I say Jani Lane will be truly missed. But the unforgettable soundtracks which helped shape peoples' lives is Jani's eternal legacy... and this will live on.
