Vainglorious!
It seems like such a long long time ago but after 15 years of self imposed exile, glam, San Francisco, outfit, Vain made a long awaited yet, unforgettable return to the UK. Entering through the Smoke and shadows Vain’s extravaganza began by Whispering to the rowdy, Rio’s crowd their ‘Secrets’. Davy’s voice was in superb form, and lead guitarists Scott and West laid the licks down magnificently.
Vain gave all the classic tracks, ‘Who’s Watching You’, ‘1000 Degrees’ and ‘Down For The Third Time’ a fresh vibrant feel. After laying down the ‘Laws Against Love’, dynamic Davy invited some lucky fans to join him on stage for the anthemic track, ‘Beat The Bullet’. The band wasted little time between songs and masterfully kept the audience Holdin’ on throughout the whole set.
The quintet performed a sublime show leaving the fans yearning for more. The devoted fans were not looking for a Ticket out’a here but were disappointed when Vain didn’t play their most renowned tune ‘No Respect’. It’s Too bad but fans Shouldn’t cry because they promised to return. Here’s hoping it’s not in vain.
